Rán’s work intersects East Asian studies, media studies, and queer theory. Her research interests include twentieth- and twenty-first century Sinophone and German literary and visual cultures, aesthetic embodiments of gender-based violence, and New Materialist feminism. Prior to moving to Toronto, she completed her bachelor and master’s degrees in the United States.
